As you may have guessed I own the company.
This About Us page could really be renamed an About Me page as the one thing I guarantee is a friendly, personal and honest service. You see I’m not a national chain, or a countrywide set up with franchises spanning the UK. I’m not even a large local High Street office with a high turnover of staff.
I’ve worked for chains and large estate agencies during my 20 years in the industry and felt the personal touch was being lost. It had gotten to the point of viewing people as numbers rather than valued customers who deserve great service and respect.
It was this faceless anonymity that was the driving force behind setting up Benjamin Matthews Estate Agents.
When you instruct us you’ll always have a constant point of contact – me. There’s no passing the buck and certainly no palming people off with excuses and ‘I’m sorry, the person dealing with your sale has left.’
Every sale matters to me. That’s why my motto is simply ‘Your Estate Agent’ because when I’m working on your behalf I’m exactly that.
The internet has changed the way houses are bought and sold. The World Wide Web has made it a much more level playing field for smaller independent agents like me to go head to head with much bigger corporations.
I can offer the same levels of exposure to your property on property portals and through regular local marketing. I am also really confident that my level of customer care, hard work and commitment to seeing sales all the way through gives me an edge over the ‘bigger boys’.
Having lived in Forest Hill with my family for nearly ten years I know the area extremely well and my finger is very much on the local market’s pulse.
And what a healthy pulse it is. SE23 and the surrounding areas are proving more and more seductive for buyers who want to experience the community feel and take advantage of the great transport links into central London.
